The Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 was awarded "Perfume of the Year 2024" and has became one of the best-selling luxury fragrances. It is loved by celebrities and is a unisex scent with top notes of Saffron and Jasmine. It has a warm, addictive woody and sweet aroma that is sure to get compliments. The Superdrug Artiscent Precious Amber is the closest dupe we have tested with our expert perfumers.
Both fragrances are designed in Paris, the perfume capital of the world. They are both also Eau De Parfum fragrances and contain a higher percentage of perfume oil which means it is more powerful and last longer throughout the day.
Both fragrances have notes of Jasmine, Saffron and Amber, they both also have slight woody and floral notes. Once dried down both fragrances are shockingly similar. Our blinds test results found that 85% of users could not smell a difference between the two fragrances. The key difference is that the Superdrug Artiscent Precious Amber lasted for around 5-6 hours, whereas the Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 lasted up to 15 hours and in some instances participants could smell the perfume the next day. However, for a £200+ saving the Superdrug Artiscent Precious Amber is worth a try!
